Before you start
Have your WordPress administrator access ready. Installation does not change your existing pages; SlothMenu creates a separate public page for your menu.
Install the plugin
Download the current Lite ZIP from this page and upload it in your WordPress dashboard. Do not extract the archive before installing.
After activation, find the plugin in the WordPress sidebar under SlothMenu (Jídelníčky in older releases).
Enter your restaurant's basic details
In the dashboard, open SlothMenu → Basic details. This information appears on your public menu.
- Restaurant nameThe main name shown to your guests.
- Logo and contact detailsAddress, phone number and other public details.
- Dashboard languageFollow WordPress automatically, or choose Czech or English.
Then go to SlothMenu → Templates and choose one of three responsive Lite templates. Public menu day names can be Czech, Slovak, English or German.
Create your first weekly menu
Open SlothMenu → Menu editor. Choose a week and add dishes only to the days you are open.
- 1Choose a day
Lite supports opening days from Monday to Sunday.
- 2Add a dish
Enter a name, description and an optional short note.
- 3Set the final price
For each dish, enter the amount you want guests to see.
- 4Check the live preview
Next to the editor, you can immediately see how the day will look.
Publish and check your menu
SlothMenu creates one public page with a permanent link. Add it to your website navigation, a Menu button, or share it directly.
Further edits appear on the same public page, so you do not need to change the link.
Update Lite with a new ZIP
Download the current Lite ZIP from this page and in WordPress open Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin. After upload, WordPress offers to replace the existing version. Lite does not require a customer account or licence key.
- Back up before updatingEspecially if you are also updating WordPress or PHP.
- Open the editor after updatingCheck the current week and public page.
- Your content stays in WordPressYour menu is not transferred to a separate product database.
Troubleshooting
SlothMenu does not appear after installation
Under Plugins, check that SlothMenu is active and that you are signed in as an administrator or a user allowed to manage menus.
The public page shows an error or does not load
Open Settings → Permalinks and save the current settings once. Then reload the public page.
My latest change does not appear online
First check the save status in the editor. If your website uses caching, clear the cache and reload the public menu.
Have your WordPress, PHP and SlothMenu versions ready. Do not send your menu content or password.
